activities
Although at Grindon peace and tranquility reign, there are lots of interesting and exciting activities and events to keep you busy within our local area.

Why not see our stunning countryside from above with a Hot Air Balloon ride, or try your hand at fishing at nearby Langley Dam or experience watersports at Kielder Water.

For the more adventurous there is rock climbing at Steel Rigg, and for the perfect mountain bike experience head for the Purple Mountain Bike Centre at Keilder Water.

Swimming, gym and golf facilities can be found in nearby Hexham, where you can also visit the racecourse or sample our local Farmers Market held once a month. There is also an outdoor swimming pool at nearby Haltwhistle.

photography
At Grindon, we can offer the services of local photographer David Taylor who will run a one day photography course to suit your needs. David will also be running a 3 day Photography workshop at Grindon Cartshed from the 12th to 14th November 2010. Further details of the workshop can be downloaded here. wool craft days
Wool craft days can be organised by arrangement to enable you to learn the skills of spinning or peg-loom weaving. They are run by Carol Robinson who is a spinner, dyer and knitter of hand spun fibres based at The Hearth in Horsley village. Wool craft days run from 10am till 4pm and will enable you to get hands on experience of working with fleece as well as other wools and fibres.

Each day costs £50 per person per day for 2 people; this includes use of all equipment, provision of wool and all materials required. Further details can be downloaded here. Wool Craft Days.pdf
